Supported bill of lading carriers

POST /blv takes a carrier code in its scac field. A SCAC, or Standard Carrier Alpha Code, is the two to four character code that identifies a vessel operating common carrier on a freight bill, bill of lading, packing list or purchase order. The table below lists the carriers we screen bills of lading for.

Send "scac": "AUTO" when you do not know which code a bill of lading belongs to. We detect the carrier while the bill of lading is screened and return its SCAC, alongside scac_name, in the results. If no carrier can be identified, scac stays AUTO.

Containers are screened against the same carriers, so Container Carriers carries the same table.

Supported carriers

Each carrier has its own code. Earlier versions of this page grouped some carriers under their operating group, such as ONEY for K Line, MOL and NYK, and listed codes that have since changed. Send the code from this table, not one you have seen on an older document.

If a bill of lading names a carrier that is not here, talk to our team before assuming it cannot be screened. Sending "scac": "AUTO" is also worth trying, since detection is not limited to the codes printed above.
