Insights is the maritime data suite: vessel identity and characteristics, AIS positions and voyage behaviour, port and zone activity, fleet monitoring, and event subscriptions that push changes to you instead of making you poll for them.It is sold as three categories, each organised around the object your query starts with, plus a shared Zones & Ports section used by two of them.
Vessel & Voyage
Start with a vessel or a voyage. Identity and characteristics, real-time and historical AIS positions, port calls, AIS reporting gaps, ship-to-ship pairings, positional discrepancies, port state control records, and vessel event subscriptions.
Port & Trade
Start with a port, berth or trade flow. Port search, vessels inside a port now, vessels reporting it as their destination, arrival and departure events, and berth-level traffic for occupancy and dwell work.
Domain & Fleet
Start with a zone, monitored area or fleet. Zone search and geometry, custom areas of interest, entry and exit analytics, and fleet management for grouping vessels once and querying them everywhere.
Zones & Ports
Traffic through an area, vessels currently inside it, and area event subscriptions. Shared by Port & Trade and Domain & Fleet, and documented once here.Authentication#
Insights uses an API key sent in a request header. There is no token exchange and no refresh cycle.PurpleTRAC, MTI, Podium, Weather still run on older schemes, each documented where it applies, and we are migrating everything to API keys.
