A vessel's lifecycle status, from projected to scrapped. Use these values in the status inclusion and exclusion filters on Vessel Search. Most integrations want one filter: include In Service/Commission and exclude everything else. The remaining values matter when you are reconciling historical records, auditing a fleet list, or explaining why a hull you expected is missing from a result.

Pass these strings as they appear here, including capitalisation and punctuation. In Service/Commission matches; In service does not.
If a hull you expect is missing, status is the usual reason before you suspect the identifier. A vessel that was broken up, hulked or reclassified stays in the register with a status that your filter is excluding. The two No Longer Meets ... Criteria values are worth knowing about. The vessel has fallen out of the scope of the underlying register, not out of existence, so historical data remains valid while new data may not arrive.
